An English introduction to Sola Air Base Flying Club
Welcome to the Sola Air Base Flying Club (SFFK) website for English speaking visitors.
We are a local flying club situated on the eastern part (military side) of Stavanger airport, Sola, Norway.
SFFK was founded in 1984 by Saab Safir enthusiasts in the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF).
SFFK operates two SAAB 91 B-2 Safir aircraft. LN-SAP and LN-SAO. Both aircraft are fully aerobatic and were used as ab initio trainers in the RNoAF from approx 1950 – 1980.
SFFK has approximately 80 members from all walks of life, not just serving or ex RNoAF members.
SFFK is a licensed club affiliated to the Norwegian Aero Club offering:
- JAR-FCL Flight Instruction
- Aerobatic theory and practical training
- Formation theory and practical flying
SFFK has a CFI and assistant CFI plus 4 fully qualified Flight Instructors.
